Try the West first: California, Oregon and Washington form the Pacific coast of the contiguous US. Find Nevada inland from California, then locate Utah immediately to its east. On your next round, build another small cluster.

How do I play this US map quiz?
Choose Quick 10 or All 50 states, start the quiz, and select the state named in the blue panel. Each question has one attempt. After the answer is revealed, select Next state. Your score counts correct answers without hints.
Does the quiz include Alaska and Hawaii?
Yes. All 50 states are included. Alaska and Hawaii appear as insets, moved and scaled to fit the map. Washington, DC is a federal district and is not one of the 50 states.
Can I practice before taking the quiz?
Choose Learn the map to reveal state abbreviations and tap any state to see its name and region. The study guide also includes a printable map and complete state list.
How do I select small states on my phone?
Use the abbreviation buttons below the map for small northeastern states. They submit the same answer as tapping the state itself. You can also use Tab and Enter with a keyboard.
